Web 2.0 Social Media Marketing is the latest buzz across the internet today. The fact that Social Marketinginternet marketing strategies by most successful internet marketers further substantiates the popularity it enjoys today. But before we delve deeper in to the advantages of these web 2.0 techniques, we need to know why & how has Web 2.0 invaded the internet arena in such a short span of time. is being considered and inculcated as an important & indispensable part of the 

Suddenly the internet market is all abuzz with reports, online e-courses, ebooks etc. on social network marketing , claiming web 2.0 to be the most integral foundation  of any online business that seeks to build it's presence across the internet prominently.

In other words, any internet marketer, building on a budget and really serious to have his online business opportunity being made visible to a massive avalanche of targeted traffic consistently day in and day out needs to incorporate web 2.0 social media marketing techniques in his internet network marketing strategies.

Yet another factor that has been significantly responsible for it's ever increasing craze is the fact that the social media marketing techniques are not capital intensive. Rather they are absolutely free to use. But the investment that one needs to make in the social marketing strategies are  massive amounts of  time , energy & efforts.

 

In my perspective these personal commitments & efforts that are required to be invested in to it are far more valuable than the capital investment. More so, since they have a direct bearing on  our motivation levels & mindset. Therefore one has to be absolutely sure of the results and benefits that one would accrue as a result of the usage of these social marketing techniques. 

And that's what is the most important question? Does Social Marketing work? Does it really pay to put in enormous time & efforts in networking with the so called 'friends' on these social sites.  I have personally come across several internet marketers all over the forums complaining that contrary to their perception, they are seeing virtually no gain of their so called engagement with fellow network marketers  across the social sites like MySpace, YouTube, Hub pages,Facebook , Squidoo etc.  This infact was the inspiration , behind writing this post today.

 

Yes, by far, web 2.0 social network marketing can be used most effectively to create an endless flow of real targeted traffic to your online business opportunity, irrespective whether it is mlm, network marketing, affiliate marketing or the traditional product & service business opportunity. The key to this is knowing how to network efficiently in the social environment. The core of this will boil down to the realisation of how to convert your fellow network marketers/ friends in the social environment to your customers/ leads, dependent on the nature of your business opportunity.

Some of several tips that can help your Social Marketing Site friends get interested in what you have to market are as follows:

1. Go through your friends profiles & visit their blogs, websites thru their links posted on their profiles.

2. Leave genuine & relevant comments on their blogs,which brings you to the blog owners notice.

3. Do stumble upon the pages that you like in their blogs & websites & leave good reviews about them.

4. If you find something really worth sharing,bookmark it to your facebook, delicious or propeller accounts & send the link to 10-15 friends asking them to stumble it and share it further to their friends.

5. Write back to these friends of yours, for whom you did this activity, informing them how you really appreciated their good work and did your bit to popularise good web content amongst your friends.

6. Then do add subtly that you would genuinely appreciate their feedback on your blog /website that you want them to visit.

7. This automatically fuels a reciprocation gesture and your friend would actually make an immediate effort to go thru your links /blog/ websites & do the same activity or more for you to adequately thank you.

8. In an effort to make a relevant & suitable comment these friends will meticulously go through your blogs/websites & the offers that it makes.And more often than not, if they find your offers truly worthwhile, they will gladly join it or buy the products & services that you promote.

I personally spend an hour daily doing this activity for atleast 5-6 friends every day. And in return I have atleast 5-6 friends doing the same for me & spreading the content to atleast 15 uncommon ( friends that we don't share in common) friends of theirs.In other words I have almost 75 -90 people stumbling upon my pages daily.

The result of this activity is many fold. I am able to build a huge traffic to my blog / website, my webcontent gets voted & stumbled upon & my search engine rankings go up, making me come higher on search results, and getting more organic traffic to my blog ie people who are actually searching for me and my product, thus increasing my sales conversions.

Yet another positive impact is that you dont have to resort in to black hat activities to promote your pages, saving you from the serious search engine penalties that could hurt you & your business in the long run. Needless to mention, even my friends who book mark me ,actually end up buying a product or two from my blog or website.

I sincerely hope my words are able to give you a picture of how powerful this whole gamut of social marketing can be, provided you know how to steer it in your favour.

Merely following the crowd and building profiles on Facebook, MySpace, Digg won't help. You have to have a clear understanding of the whole synergistic working of the social sites & how the entire social web can be made to work  to help your sites rank higher on the search engines & thereby create an avalanche of real human traffic to your website that can convert in to your leads, customers  & eventually profits for you & your business.
